The ACL Injury Prevention Program is a highly specific 15-minute training session that replaces the traditional warm-up and is designed to help prevent catastrophic knee injuries in the young athlete, especially females who are more susceptible to them.
PEP was developed by a team of physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers and coaches. This program consists of a warm-up, stretching, strengthening, plyometrics, and sport specific agility training. The goal is to educate young athletes on the importance of proper technique during jumping moves and aim for soft landings.
The program goal is to teach players strategies to avoid injury by:
- Avoiding vulnerable positions
- Increasing flexibility
- Increasing strength
- Including plyometric exercises in training
- Increasing proprioception
Optimally, the program should be performed at least 2-3 times per week during the season and should be instructed and implemented by on e of our qualified physical therapists or Athletic Trainers. Please call for further information at 301-302-0506 or e-mail at email@example.com.
